White Swiss Shepherd, also known as Berger Blanc Suisse looks like typical shepherd, only in white color. As the name suggest, it is a white dog developed in Switzerland. And it is fairly new dog breed, developed in twentieth century. The first White shepherd was imported to Switzerland in 1970s from North America, where White Shepherds were accepted earlier than in Europe.

If i should describe White Swiss Shepherd temperament, i would definitely use two words – Active and Intelligent. Their intelligence is very high and they are capable of learning even the most difficult tricks. It is because they are not only intelligent but very eager to please and loyal.

And it is true, they are very loyal, someone can even say clingy. They will attach to their owners very closely and they want to follow them everywhere. They will be your shadow. On the other hand, they are kinda aloof towards strangers, but once they get to know them, they are friendly to them. They are also okay with other dogs. They are very rarely agressive without provocation.

Last thing i would love to say is, that there are some others White Shepherds. You can meet some classic German Shepherds who happen to be white for some reason. It can be cause because they are albinos for example. An albino is an organism that has deficient pigmentation, which causes pink eyes, pale skin, and colorless hair. Its important to know, that White Swiss Shepherd is not an albino.
