1) Miniature Schnauzer
There is no doubt that the Miniature Schnauzer acts like a big dog. It is very confident, brave, protective and very active breed and their temperament is not much different from their close relatives – the standard and giant Schnauzer.
2) Small Terriers (Norfolk, Border, Jack Russell, Boston…)
Basically all the small terriers have big dog personality and mighty spirit. This group includes many different breeds, to mention few, there is the Jack Russell, Boston, Yorkshire, Border or Norfolk Terrier. They all have the history of hunting dogs and they are very alert, confident, smart and lively.
3) Shiba Inu
Even though not the smallest of all dogs, the Shiba Inu is still relatively small breed and it has similar temperament as Akita Inu – a much larger, but similar dog breed. Both breeds are extremely loyal and faithful, very independent, alert and lively. The Shiba Inu definitely needs proper early socialization and even though pretty small in size, they are not the best choice for novice dog owners.
4) Miniature Pinscher
The nickname of Min Pin is the „King of Toys“. And indeed, this is extremely playful, lively and energetic breed. I can guarantee you, that you would never be bored with the small Miniature pinscher. They have a brave soul and they are always ready for any kind of adventure.
5) Welsh Corgi
Both Cardigan and Pembroke Welsh Corgi are super cute, but they are also very active and always ready to go. They are excellent for various dog sports, like agility or herding trials. They definitely act like big dogs, just with short legs.
6) Shetland Sheepdog
If you want smaller dog that is extremely intelligent and capable of learning almost any trick, than the Shetland Sheepdog might be right choice for you. It is not only intelligent, but also extremely active, playful and they like herding. Overall, it is perfect family companion for active people.
The Beagle is very popular smaller breed with absolutely cute face. But despite a small stature, this is a true hunting dog. They are very independent and sometimes it is hard for them to obey your commands when they hear or smell something interesting. They like to chase things and they are super playful. The Beagle is very fun to be around dog breed.
The Schipperke is known for its confident, energetic and intense personality. Even though small in size, they want to have some kind of a job in their life and they alwayswant to be involved in any activity around them. It is a very curious, alert, watchful and spirited animal.
Don’t let the short legs and adorable appearance fool you! The Dachshund is definitely not a typical lapdog, quite the opposite. This breed is described as independent, clever, lively, and courageous to the point of rashness. They are also very adventurous and they will gladly accompany you on your walks and hikes.
10) Miniature Bull Terrier
The last dog in this video is the Miniature Bull Terrier, which is, except the size, basically identical with the „standard“ Bull Terrier. They are very very strong dogs with a lot of stamina. They are also fun loving, kind of mischievous and very rambunctious. Just like all the dogs in this video, they are also very adventurous and despite their smaller size, they will be always ready for any exercise, walk or hike with you and your family.
