1) Gaucho Sheepdog
Lets start the video with sturdy and agile Brazilian Gaucho. It is a skilled sheepdog, which is still, even today used for herding sheep and other livestock. They are very friendly towards their people and family, but they will probably bark, when someone or something suspicious is going on around their territory. Thanks to that, they also make good watchdogs.

2) Rastreador Brasileiro
Sadly, this breed, which is also known as Brazilian Tracker, is already extinct, due to an outbreak of disease, compounded by an overdose of insecticide. Since than, there are efforts to recreate this interesting breed. Brazilian Tracker was an amazing scenthound with big body and height between 62-67 cms. Which is 24-27 inches.

3) Brazilian Dogo
This is very large, molloser type of a dog, with weight up to 45 kgs, which is 100 pounds. You can definitely see some of the Bull Terrier when you look at this dog, and you would be correct. This breed was developed by crossing the Bull Terrier with the Boxer. This breed makes great and strong guard combined with loving temperament towards their family.

4) Serrano Bulldog
And then we have the Serrrano Bulldog, another great guard and protector. They have great guarding instinct, they can work with cattle, but they rarely show agression towards other animals. This breed is extremely loyal to its owners.

5) Mantiqueira Shepherd Dog
Also known as the Brazilian Cattle dog. This is probably the least popular breed from this list, but it is definitely one of the Brazilian breeds. They were developed in the Mantiqueira Mountains. Sadly, this breed is threatened by extinction.

6) Brazilian Terrier
This is the one of the two Brazilian breeds, that are recognized worldwide. They were probably developed from Fox Terriers, JRTs and Parson Russell Terriers brough to the Brazil by European immigrants in the 19th century. And their temperament is very similar to these three dogs, very active, alert, intelligent, spirited, fearless and friendly.

7) Pampas Deerhound
Pampas Deerhound is an amazing hunting dog breed from Brazil, Argentina and Urugay. They were mostly used to track and hunt down so called Pampas deer, which is where they got their name. They are also often hunting wild boars.

8) Campeiro Bulldog
This breed is often times confused with another Brazilian breed we already talked in this video, the Serrano Bulldog, an even though they are closely related, they are two different breeds. Campeiro Bulldog is extremely loyal, adaptable, courageous and affectionate dog breed, that is well known for being great companion for children, but also amazing property protector.

9) Fila Brasileiro
Also known as Brazilian Mastiff, this is definitely the most popular Brazilian dog breed worldwide. It is very large and strong dog breed, that makes amazing protector, but also hunter and tracker. They were known for being able to guard the cattle from large predators, like Jaguars. And back than, when the slavery was still legal in Brazil, these dogs were used to catch slaves that runaway and return them back to their owners unharmed.

10) Original Fila Brasileiro
The last dog on this list is the Old Brazilian Mastiff, also known as OFB or Original Fila Brasileiro. They are considered as separate breed from the Fila Brasileiro. These dogs are bred on farms to guard cattle and protect it from strangers – animals or people. They are bred to be agressive and naturally protective. It is very confident, intelligent and brave dog.
