1) Origin

The Miniature bull terrier is basicly a downsized version of the famous Bull Terrier. Nowadays, these dogs are used 99% of the time as family companions, but their original purpose was for ratting and pit-fighting

2) Fighting

One of the most important ancestors of the Mini Bull Terrier are the bull-and-terriers. These were crosses between bull dogs and various terriers, which gives them the tenacious spirit and agility of the terrier mixed with the brute force of a bulldog. They were one of the best pit fighting dogs in the world. Thankfully, this so called sport is banned since 1835 when the Humane Act was signed.

3) Unique head

Miniature Bull Terriers are one of the easiest dog breeds to recognize. It is thanks to their distinctive head. It is egg shaped head with dark-colored, rectangular, eyes. They are actually the only breed which is registered to have triangle shaped eyes.

4) High Energy

From all smaller dog breeds, this is one of the most active. They not only need a lot of physical exercise like long daily walks, which are their favourite, but their brain needs to be stimulated as well. You can try to teach them new tricks, try some dog sport or buy a lot of puzzle toys.

5) Clowns

Because of their high energy, you will have a lot of fun with your mini bull terrier. They are sweet and gentle, but also extremely goofy and fun to be around. They are always ready for a good playtime. That is why they are the perfect fit for active families.

6) Training

Miniature Bull terriers highly are highly intelligent and very easy to train, but they need a lot of interaction. Keep the training sessions shorter, because they can loose their interest very quickly and become bored. They also have independent and stubborn streaks, which is why you must be absolutely consistent when training a Miniature Bull terrier.

7) Size

Mini Bull Terriers are stocky and muscular without being coarse or ungainly. They should be between 10-14 inches tall which is 25-35 cm and their weight should be between 20-35 pounds which is 9-15 kg.

8) Hucklebutting

Dog zoomies – or - hucklebutting is very common with active dog breeds, but with bull terriers, it is something else. Sometimes, it looks, like your bull terrier is possesed with devil. They will run in full speed towards you to turn right infront of you. It is important to stay still and dont worry, normally the zoomies go away after few minutes.

9) Grooming

Miniature bull terriers have the same coat as the original Bull Terrier – which is short and fine. This is great, because they dont need much grooming, but be prepared for shedding. Because of that, it is recomended to brush your dog regularly, to remove the dead hair and minimize the shedding.

10) Health

Miniature Bull Terriers are prone to several health problems and it is important to regularly monitor your dog for signs of any health conditions. They are especially prone to skin problems and allergies, but also to heart issues and deafness.
