JACK RUSSELL TERRIER SHORT DESCRIPTION:
JRT is from Great Britain. Jack Russell was developed for foxhunting. Jack Russell Terriers are always in all white coat or in white coat with black and tan markings and their height is between 10-15 inch.

Jack Russell Terrier ears are described as V-shaped and flapped forwards as in fox terriers. Jack Russell Terrier can have smooth, broken or rough coat. If you are not familiar, what broken coat is, it is a coat that is very similar to a smooth coat but has trace hair on the head, face, legs or body.

RAT TERRIER SHORT DESCRIPTION:
The AKC breed standard for Rat Terrier is saying, that their height is between 13-18 inches. There is also a miniature version of Rat Terrier, recognized by the AKC, which have standard height between 10-13 inch, so they are similarly tall as JRTs.

Rat Terrier ears are most often erect or semi-erect ears. Rat Terrier can only have a smooth coat and you can find Rat Terriers in many color combination, but one of the colors is always white. The second color can be red, apricot, chocolate, black, fawn, blue or you can also find all white Rat Terrier.

Rat Terrier, just like any other terrier is an active dog too, but definitely not as much as JRT. Some Rat Terriers are actually much calmer, than a typical terrier breeds. This can be a big advantage for some older or not so active people. Because if you will get a JRT, be prepared, that will need a lot of physical stimulation. It can be a lot of fun, but it can also be little bit difficult.
