Everything You Need to Know About Samoyed

Samoyeds were bred by nomadic tribes in Siberia to herd reindeers. They were also used as guards and sometimes as sled pullers. In the begining of 19th century, Samoyeds came to England as a gift from Russian Czar. Samoyeds were parts of many polar expedition, and they traveled to south pole with Roald Amundsen

Samoyed is medium sized dog with furry coat. Its thick and harsh with full undercoat, as you would probably expect at siberian dog. Most of the time, they are striking white, but you can find cream or buscuit coloured samoyeds as well. Samoyeds have curly tail and dark eyes, nose and lips. They are also known for their smile. They look so happy, because of their face, it really look, like they are smiling. Even according to AKC breed standards, Samoyeds muzzle should be slightly curved up at the corners of the mouth, giving the 'Samoyed smile.'"

Samoyeds are independent dogs, because of their herding and working heritage. In past, they work independently for their owners, and they still have mind of their own. They are also very bright and intelligent. But on the other hand, they are very eager to please, so in the right hands, they are easily trainable. Just make sure, to make firm training, they are sensitive for harsh training methods.
