Dogs are omnivores. They can survive on milk products, bread and other stuff. It is not healthy for them, the main source of their food should be meat. But if you use some other food in moderation, it can have great benefits for their health and life in general. One of the best food you can give him in addition to meat is fruit.
But there is some food, that can harm them and some can even kill our four legged friends. You should never feed your dog with these: Grapes, Raisins, Avocado, Onion, Garlic, Raw Potatoes, Mushrooms, Cherries, Tomatoes and Plums:
On the other hand, you should give your dog some of these fruits from time to time: Apples, Blueberries, Sweet potatoes (they are different from normal potatoes), Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Spinach, Brussels Sprout, Carrot, Pear, Pineapple:

If you live in warm climate, whether it is Florida, Phillipines or India, you saw some people owning winter loving dogs like Husky or Akitas. Is it okay for these types of dogs to live in hot area?
The answer is yes. It is not ideal, but it is easily possible. You just need to make it easier for the dog. The most important thing is to NEVER SHAVE THEIR FUR. It is not only insulating in the cold, it is also insulating in warm weather. The dog should also have access to cold water all day long and you should make him some kind of cool zones around your home (access to cold room or kiddy pool for example). As i said, you should not SHAVE them but regular brushing is a must, so you will encourage the natural process of shedding. I am talking about this topic more in-depth in this video:
There are a lot of people who suffer from allergies on dog hair but they are dog lovers. Does it mean, that they canĀ“t have dog in their life?
Absolutely no! There are dogs, that are hypoallergenic, which means, that they will not trigger your allergies. It is better to say, that no dog is 100% hypoallergenic, since all dogs shed some allergens. But there are some breeds, that are better for allergy suffereres. The most known hypoallergenic dogs are most often smaller breeds like Tibetan Terrier, Maltese Terrier, Brussels Griffon, Bichon Frise or Havanese. But what if you need larger companion. In that case you should look for Bouvier des Flandres, Afghan Hound, Giant Schnauzer, Bergamasco or Standrad Poodle! We made a video about all of them and you can watch it here:
First of all, lets say, what crossbreed is. It is a dog, that have two purebred parents. On the other hand, purebred dogs are dogs that are bred for many generations and every puppy is born with similar appearance and temperament.
The crossbreeds have tendencies to be healthier. It is because, purebred dogs have a small gene pools, and they are more likely to have a recessive disorders. A purebred puppy have bigger chance to inherit two copies of defective genes. Crossbreed comes from two different gene pools, so they have smaller chance to inherit two copies of defective gene. But being a crossbreed does not make a dog illness free pet. They are still prone to similar health problems as their parents. Watch our video about this topic to learn more: |
