Cavachon is a crossbreed between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frise. Both of the Cavachon ancestors are very friendly and affectionate breeds and makes excellent companions. And that is what Cavachon shares with both of them.
2) Good for Novices
Cavachon is excellent choice for novice or even first time dog owners. They are small and easily managable. But the more important part is, that they are very social, intelligent and eager to please – which makes them pretty easily trainable dogs.
3) Low shedding
A great fact about Cavachon is, that they shed only a very little and they are good choice for people suffering with dog allergies. But even though they are low shedding, they still need regular grooming to prevent their coats from becoming matted and dirty. Some dogs need to be trimmed occasionally

Many Cavachon owners agree, that their dogs are very friendly, affectionate, lively and playful. They are also pretty gentle and mild mannered. They are overall very well natured and social dogs that wants to be part of the family and that will love you no matter what.
Cavachons are very adaptable small dogs. They can live in both – small city apartment or big country house with a yard. They can also be trained to be left home alone for longer time, but you should give them enough attention every single day.
Cavachon is an ancestor of two very small dogs, which means, the puppies are very small when they are ready to go to their new home. They typicaly weight around 4-5 pounds. You must také a proper care about them, because they are extremely fragile in this age.
Cavachon coat is very soft and silky with slight waves. There are few typical colors of cavachon, the most common are tricolored dogs - white with apricot, black or tan markings.
As with all crossbreeds, it is hard to predict the size of the Cavachon. But on average, it should be something between 12-14 inches which is 31 to 36 cm. And they should weigh between 10 -20 pounds, which is 5 – 9 kg.
Cavachons are pretty healthy dogs, but as every other dog, they do suffer from some health issues. The most common are joint problems like hip dysplasia, skin problem, allergies and eye problems like cataracts or Corneal dystrophy.
The Cavalier King Charles or Bichon Frise are not extremely active dogs, so even the Cavachon only need moderate daily exercise to be happy. A daily longer walk is enough to work off your dogs energy. But Cavachon is always ready for additional playtime.
