The Aussiedoodle is a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, usually a Standard or Miniature Poodle.
There are TOP 10 interesting facts about Aussiedoodle.

1) Origin

The Aussiedoodle is a relatively new crossbreed. Not unlike other crossbreeds, different crosses can result in different physical characteristics and personalities. Cute and healthier than its purebred ancestors, the Aussiedoodle has been growing in popularity.

2) Crossbread

The Aussiedoodle is a crossbreed, the result of a deliberate mating between two different breeds. Opening your heart and home to a crossbreed is like opening a beautifully wrapped package on your birthday: you never know what’s going to be inside. It’s often assumed that a crossbreed will combine the best of two or more breeds, but genetics doesn’t always work that way. The way genes combine and express themselves is not always subject to a breeder’s control, even less so when two different breeds are crossed.

3) Temperament

A hybrid dog’s temperament can often differ greatly based on the specific genetic contribution of each parent. However, when it comes to Aussiedoodles they are generally regarded as extremely intelligent, playful and loving dogs. The traits that they inherit come from both their Poodle and Australian Shepherd parents.

4) Family Pet

Aussiedoodles are extremely affectionate and devoted towards their owners and should never be raised outdoors or in kennels. They require constant human interaction and affection to maintain a happy and balanced life. However, as with all dogs, it is important that the Aussiedoodle’s owners provide it with rules, boundaries and limitations as well as consistent leadership to ensure a well-behaved and balanced dog.

5) Smart Breed

An Aussiedoodle will undoubtedly be smart and highly trainable, thanks to the intelligence of both breeds and the Australian Shepherd’s strong desire to do a job. If you train an Aussiedoodle with positive reinforcement techniques, showing him what you like by rewarding him with praise, play and treats, he’s likely to learn quickly and happily.

6) Excercise

Aussiedoodles have a moderate to high activity level. They need a good walk or active playtime each day, and they are athletic enough to participate in such dog sports as agility, flyball, obedience and rally. They can also be excellent therapy dogs.

7) Mini Version

Evolving from a miniature Poodle, the Mini or Miniature Aussiedoodle is only a smaller breed-variant of this already-little dog, winning separate recognition from dog clubs like the ACHC and the IDCR. Inheriting the behavioral traits of the Miniature Poodles, the Mini Aussiedoodles have a well-mannered and delightful disposition.

8) Size

The Aussiedoodle normally weighs about 40 to 60 pounds, and stands about 11 to 14 inches. The Moyen Size Aussiedoodle is slightly smaller at 25 to 40 pounds, while the miniatures usually weigh 12 to 24 pounds.

9) Grooming

The level of grooming that an Aussiedoodle requires will vary depending on how curly its coat is. Dogs that have a wavier coat often only require combing once or twice a week, whereas dogs with a curlier coat need to be groomed more often.

10) Great Health

Like most purebred crosses, Aussiedoodles are an extremely healthy breed of dog and do not suffer from any known hereditary ailments. Some breeding lines can however suffer from hip dysplasia.
