Dog Scootering is a sport based on dog to human bond. But it is not just a sport, its mostly great recreational fun. Dog Scootering is similar to dog sleding or even cycling with your dog. So what actually dog scootering is? Its a sport, where you are on a scooter and your dog is engaged in front of you. Some people dont like this sport and they think its not ethical and good for a dog. But the true is, that most of the time, dog scootering is more fun for the dog than for its owner.

Its important to think about safety during the sport. Buy scooter with quality wheels and with patterns on tires, that is similar to mountain bikes. It will be easier to ride in hard terrain. Never run on small scooters, which are usually used by kids. Use large scooter that have a sturdy step and a reliable brake.

A lot of people is surprised how much can a dog cost. For me, the most unexpected cost is not about money, but how much time you will have to spend with your dog, especially when it is little puppy. You, or someone from your family will need to be with little puppy non-stop and let him go for a pee or poo at least every 4 hours. This is something people underestimate and they are surprise by that. So that is probably number 1 hidden cost of having a puppy.

But if we will talk about the money, than it would probably be the veterinarian bills. If your dog will be healthy, than there will be no big costs. But if your dog will have some disease, prepare, that it will cost A LOT. Dogs normally dont have insurance, so you will have to pay for every veterinarian operation.

Medication is pretty expensive too. Other expenses are dog food, toys, leash, collar.. But i guess everyone knows about those, so they are not hidden expenses.

But there is one last hidden expense, which is, that little puppy will probably destroy some of your things. It can be furniture, carpet, clothes, books, maybe even phone or computer. When they teething, they want to chew on something and lot of time it will be one of your things. So be prepared, that you will probably need to buy some new stuff into your home, after some time of having puppy.

3 Tips On Bathing a Puppy

Dogs and puppies generaly dont like b aths and they do not sea reason to take it. They dont mind if they are little stinky, they might actually even like that. Because of that, you want to associate bathing with something positive, like treats or toys. Show your dog empty bath at first, give him some treats or toys into it and after he is not that scared add water and start with shampooing and showering.

Be very carefull and dont let the water get into dogs eyes and nose - it is can be dangerous for dogs and it definitely is not pleasant for them.

My last tip is about drying. I always use towels only and after that i let the dogs and puppies dry themself. But if you use blow dryer, be very carefull so you avoid burning puppy skin. Dogs also dont like sound of blow dryers, so i really think, that towels are the best options.

You probably know, that dogs are cooling their bodies by speedy breathing and by having their tongues out. But dog also cools his body through wet muzzle. Inside the nostrils, there are mucous glands, that produce water and self-moisturizing the nose. There is a continuous evaporation on the muzzle of the dog, which makes the nose cold.

Dogs are also keeping wet nose by constant licking. It makes them into some kind of comfort zone. Dogs have very good sense of smell, much much better than people and according to some scientist, wet nose helps them with sniffing and improving their sense of smell. It is because it receives small drops of water from the surroundings that contains odor, which are recognizable for a dog.

So how is it with dry nose? There are several causes of dry nose, some of them can be dangerous, but some of them are harmless. It is absolutely normal, that dog has dry nose in the morning, because dogs dont lick their nose when they are sleeping at night. But few minutes after they will wake up, their nose became wet again normally.

Dalmatian is very easily recognizable, because of his coat, but his history and origin is mysterious. We dont know much about it, especially about early origin. The name suggest that the breed came from Dalmatia, which is region in today Croatia, but it is probably not true.

Old painting with dogs that looked like Dalmatians were found in 14th century in Spain, Italy, but also in some regions of Asia and Africa – we know that there were dogs with similar markings in Egypt. The breed was also found in bands of nomadic gypsies, making its history even more mystical. Gypsies have traveled with these dogs for many centuries. We believe that ancestors of Dalmatians were some kind of pointers and spotted Great Danes.

Dalmatians look very noble nowadays. It is due to breeding by English nobility, which started using Dalmatians in the beginning of 19th century. They were used as companions of nobility coaches. It was perfect dog for this purpose, because not only that they look noble, they have amazing stamina and endurance and they are good hunting dog, so they can help hunters as well. They were not used for pulling weights, but mostly for protecting the coaches.

Why Do Dogs Have Dewclaws?

9/11/2018

All healthy dogs have four primary toes on their legs and almost all of them also have one additional fifth toe on their front leg. This fifth toe is called Dew Claw. It is almost on the same spot as thumb on human hand, that is why they are sometimes reffered as dog thumbs.

Almost all dogs have dewclaws on their front legs, but not all of them have hind dew claws. It is work of evolution again, since front dew claws still have some purpose, hind dew claws are completely useless. There are also dogs with double dewclaws. When a dog has a double claw on a leg, it’s called polydactyl and there is nothing wrong with it! For some breed it is actually breed standard requirement. Great Pyrenees or Briard must have double dewclaws if they want to participate on official dog shows.

Find out, what is the real purpose of dewclaws in this video:
